Where's the Plan?
Israel Weekly War Diary, February 15
What has happened to the second half of the Trump agreement? You know, the part about Hamas disarming? I happen to know for a fact that under the Americans, rebuilding has already begun in Gaza. And that is happening even though the terror tunnels are still full of heavily armed Hamas terrorists who pop up at will and come rushing towards our soldiers. So far, it hasn’t gone well for Hamas (it never does). Almost every day, I’m reading about Hamas terrorists being blown to smithereens by Israeli explosives neatly dropped on them from above. But that doesn’t change the fact that THERE IS NO PLAN!
What the hell? Does that mean that what is happening now is the plan? Pop up and get blown up? And whom, exactly, does that serve? Even Nickolay Mladenov, head of Gaza’s “Board of Peace,” told the Munich Security Conference that Gaza can’t be rebuilt before Hamas disarms. What am I missing here?
Or is Trump patiently waiting to decimate Iran, certain that will solve the problem, so in the meantime, why waste time? Trump is a builder. If it works, it’s actually not a bad strategy.
Israel Today points out that “despite repeated claims of reform, a recent report by Palestinian Media Watch found the PA’s “Martyr’s Fund” remains active — paying roughly $315 million in 2025 to some 23,500 imprisoned terrorists and their families.” This is coming out of the pockets of all the benevolent Europeans who donate to the Palestinian Authority. Watching their home countries slowly brutalized into Third World hell holes, their streets vandalized, their little girls and women sexually assaulted and unsafe in their streets, gives me no pleasure. The same people who are betraying us in Israel, are betraying their own people ten-fold. We in Israel will recover, but their people never will.
As a result of European cowardice and betrayal, Israel no longer cares what their politicians think. This has made it possible to propose and pass a law that would have been unthinkable only a few years ago. For the first time since the Six-Day War the government has approved a proposal to begin the process of land registration in the areas of Judea and Samaria.
What does this mean? Among other things, the registration of extensive unused land in Judea and Samaria as land belonging to Israel. As part of the decision, the Land Registration and Settlement of Rights Authority in the Ministry of Justice will be authorized, budgeted, and given manpower to enforce this decision. Land will be treated the way land all over Israel is treated, allowing “a transparent and thorough clarification of rights, which will bring an end to legal disputes and enable the development of infrastructure and the orderly marketing of land.”
Yes, Jews can buy and own land in Judea and Samaria. It will no longer be Judenrein. This is in response, so say the law’s creators, to the illegal settlement procedures promoted by the Palestinian Authority in Area C (which constitutes 62 percent of the West Bank), in violation of the law and signed agreements. Palestinians have been illegally expropriating land for decades.
The Palestinian Authority, that terror group in suits, is unhappy about this. Alaa Tamimi, the minister responsible for the Land Authority in the Palestinian Authority said “Israel is acting to impose a reality on the ground through the legislation it is advancing. Israel controls the West Bank through orders for land expropriation issued by the military governor. The Israeli decision paves the way for the takeover of lands in the West Bank.”
He says that like it’s a bad thing!
The IDF is now heavily involved in removing terrorists from these areas, and has been making amazing progress, something else Israel was afraid to do in the past. But because of the current tsunami of hatred, based on nothing but lies, Israel no longer measures its steps according to “what will the world think.” We have come to realize they don’t think about anything at all, so what’s the point of creating policies of appeasement? Now it is easier for us to do what is necessary, just, and fair to save our own people.
I just read that Kushner and Witkoff have thrown in the towel at reaching a nuclear agreement with Iran. It was never going to happen. Still, they are meeting in Geneva to continue the blah-blah. Personally, I think they want to keep the mullahs busy while the US gets its military ducks in order, which should happen around the end of April.
Our Prime Minister described today what we need from Iran to prevent US intervention:
· Removal of all enriched uranium from Iran’s borders.
· Removal of all uranium enrichment equipment from Iran so that there will be no enrichment capability.
· Iran’s ballistic missiles must be limited to a range of 300 km.
· Dismantling the axis of terror (the Iranian proxies in the Middle East).
Does it look likely to you that this can be achieved peacefully in our lifetimes? And if yes, what are you smoking?
Israel is getting a two new international airports in the South and North, Netanyahu announced today. “This will be a tremendous engine for the development of the Negev – for employment, for accessibility, for tourism, alongside complementary infrastructure such as roads and railways, as well as various secondary industries and businesses that arise near an airport. We have seen this everywhere in the world, including in Israel.
“At the same time, we are also advancing the establishment of another airport in the north, at Ramat David. Only in this way can we provide a real answer to the growing demand from tourists and the air traffic of the many millions who come to the country every year, and many more who will come, as well as for the citizens of Israel who fly abroad.”
I think it is just amazing how in the face of a possible barrage of Iranian ballistic missiles, we are worried about accommodating tourism!
But that is Israel. The country keeps progressing, despite the hatred, the wars, our young men getting called up, the terrible things that were done to our young women. Even during the worst part of the war, when missiles were flying and, bombs were falling, and we were running to shelters, we had supermarkets full of food. The roads were crowded with cars of people going to work every day. The children were in school most of the time. Concerts continued. The malls and movies were open. Everywhere you look, there are cranes, high-rises going up in every town, village, city. So much growth!
I spent Shabbat in Netanya, a block away from the Park Hotel, where Hamas tried to murder me and my family in 2002. I saw the same windows that the suicide bomber had splintered, the glass flying towards us. And now it is used as a hotel and synagogue. And I was nearby with my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, five little munchkins, who were playing at the beach in February, because the sun was out, and it was warm, and we are alive, and happy, and growing.
Thank you, G-d.
